Fahrenheit 451 article
In the Fahrenheit 451 article, we were asked to make an article for the magazine teen ink by the opinion editor John Smith. He asked us to do this because the magazine was lacking articles by teenagers on the subject of media control. The article had to be on the topic of the book
Fahrenheit 451, the article had to be on the subject of media control. In this project I became a better writer because of the sheer amount of writing we had to do. So naturally this project had a lot to do with written communication and proficiency. Written proficiency is how well we write and convey our message through writing. In this project we had to use various sources to support three ideas surrounding one singular topic on media control. For example if you had to write about Facebook, you had to write about the various aspects of how Facebook affects people. In this project i wrote about 850 words and used all three basic arguments, pathos (trying to relate to the reader) , logos (use of logic to support a claim), and ethos (citing of an expert to make a claim). I feel i became a better writer because of this project because i learned how to form better argument and found out new ways to hook people into an argument. All in all i feel this was a simple but effective project in this class.

To Kill a Mockingbird Play
In this project we were tasked to reenact the book we were tasked with creating a play basked on To Kill a Mockingbird. This project favored the oral communication learning outcome. Oral communication is the way we talk to convey our message. In this play what we did first off was read the book To Kill a Mockingbird, then we created scenes based off the chapters in separate groups. The step after that was to get a role and then act out a play. We had to talk loudly to make sure that people could hear us, this is an important part of any play. We had to put life into our lines and make them sound genuine. This was not an easy task, and many of us did not remember our lines. We had to convey emotion with our voices and make sure our point got across. This is why oral communication was important in this project
The second biggest learning outcome in this project was collaboration. Collaboration is the way we work together. What we had to do was to create 17 separate scenes each made by a different group of two to three people. This required lots of collaboration. Without collaboration we would have a mess of a play, we communicated a lot between groups to make our play seem natural. This script seemed like a mess until we began to edit it; we collaborated as a mass and edited every scene so they fit together. After the script was finished we began to work in different groups such as props, backgrounds, advertising, and lights. These groups worked together to make different components work together. This is how we showed collaboration

Lord of The Flies Art Project
Critical design thinking is the way we think about things. It also governs how well we design things. This was best shown in our Lord of The Flies Art Project. What we had to do was read the book Lord of The Flies and then create an art piece for the Crocker Art Museum. We had to use large amounts symbolism in the art piece. We also had to include said symbolism in an intelligent and non-forceful way. We had to include certain items from the book as well that had to do with symbolism. I did this by including items like the conch order and peace, the beast, chaos and decay. Using such things I created a piece of art for the project.
Content literacy was also a very important part of the project. We had to understand the book and its symbolism to do this project. This book, Lord of The Flies, is notorious for its symbolism so this was not an easy task. We had a reading packet in which we wrote down all the symbolic devices and their meaning, this was one of the steps to finishing the project. After that we would make our drafts in which we would have to explain our art with the symbolism attached. Latter our art would be finalized and we would have to explain why we chose the symbolism we chose, so we had to understand. The content literacy was an essential part of the project and very much the backbone. So it does need to be noted as an important part. That is why Content literacy is important.

Future Culture Project
In the future culture project we were tasked with creating the culture of the future. We had to create said future from finding cultural traits and projecting them into the future in a way that made sense. For example one cultural trait could be amplified while another may be dumbed down. To convey this message we needed to do a lot of writing. In that respect we needed written proficiency. Written proficiency is how well we write, this was important because this project did require a lot of writing. We had to write about ten to fifteen paragraphs about cultural traits and how they evolved over time into the future society of our choosing. These traits had to backed up with evidence as to why they evolved and how, we could not just make everything up. So this project was harder than others. The written proficiency played a big role and got better over time. I would say my written proficiency has improved a lot due to this project.

Of Mice and Men Legal Brief
To this day the biggest test of my metal in this class was the of Mice and Men legal brief. This project was one of the hardest projects of my life and it probably will continue to be one of the hardest projects for a long time. What we were tasked with creating a legal brief based of the legal misdoings from the book of Mice and Men. This needed a large amount of work ethic to finish. The project required us to finish the book of Mice and Men, study Unruh Civil Rights Act and similar laws, and then write a legal brief containing the reasons why the case should be brought to court. This project was so hard that as an example only two cases were brought to court sadly our case was not brought to court. The work ethic to finish everything and trying to make the brief adhere to the laws and to make sure that everyone understands it clearly was immense. This project was by no means easy and was tough to finish but in the end, like always, it was worth it.

The Poetry Slam
The poetry slam project is the backbone to any high school English class. A poetry slam is a sort of competition between students with poetry and words, we were allowed to use any form of poetry, excluding haikus, and read them in front of the class. To write poems we needed critical design thinking to make a poem of mostly any type. We would be tasked everyday with going to a workshop to learn about a type of poem its meter, syllables, and so forth. Then for homework we would have to write a poem of the same type and turn it in. This way we could figure out what kind of poem we wanted to write for the final product. I chose free verse style of poem, allowing me the most freedom. However I wrote many different poems requiring a lot of ideas, that’s where the critical design thinking comes in. each idea turned into a poem, and forming an idea into a set of lines with set amounts of syllables and beats is not easy.

Professional Echo Profile
Our first project was the echo professional student profile. This project was by far the shortest and easiest. All you had to do was make your profile on echo, make sure it is professional, and then present it. Written proficiency played a big role. We had to write down who we were, while sounding as professional as possible. You had to write down your favorite things like your favorite book, movie, and hobby. Our written proficiency had to be spot on with no errors in spelling, grammar, or punctuation. So it had to be nice and presentable. Our picture also had to be taken, later on in the year many people (including me) have changed their picture from their face to something else. Originally we had to take a picture of our face in a professional manner and put it on the profile as well. Finally we had to present it to the class, this was our first presentation so in hindsight it was shaky at best, but I still didn’t have to redo it so I did fine.
